Our Story
The Bibliofilles by Sophie & Chaya
@thebibliofilles was born during Lockdown 2.0 (or was it 7.0, 8.0, 12.0…?) when Sophie was isolating with her husband and three kids. Chaya answered Sophie’s call for a book recommendation on a Facebook post, insisting she read The Song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller. The rest, dear readers, is history.
From that moment on, @thebibiliofilles have been chronicling their reading journey and from this moment on, we will now drop the third person. We read across all genres, anytime, anywhere and admittedly at times, to our detriment. We review using both the written and spoken word (make sure to check out our videos which feature some of our favourite authors) and we love picking up books outside our traditional comfort zones.

Chaya Burns
The speediest of readers and an ardent devotee of historical fiction, gender politics and fantasy, I have loved books for as long as I can remember. I read Law at university and now work as a Criminal Barrister.
A mum of two young kids, I am perpetually fascinated by history, politics, art, fashion and skincare. You can usually find me at the theatre with a book in my bag just in case.
Sophie Ezra
Contemporary literary fiction and narrative non-fiction have always been my go-to genres, although the first book I read and loved was definitely from The Babysitters Club series. I graduated from Oxford with a Modern History degree, which definitely got me reading fast, though not quite as quickly as Chaya.
I worked in the editorial team at HarperCollins for four years before I moved into the non-profit world. I am a mum of three kids and outside of reading, my greatest passions are writing, binge watching Sex and the City reruns and creating the perfect gin and tonic.
