We found @zibbyowens through her brilliant podcast, @momsdonthavetimetoreadbooks — with five children between us, we definitely share the sentiment that this podcast title conveys sometimes! Zibby herself is a mother of four and as well as being a podcast host, she is also a writer and has most recently set up the Zibby Awards, which will be celebrating the often overlooked parts of books and the teams behind them. We are so thrilled she has joined us today to share this recommendation — thank you, Zibby. We hope that one day we will be able to get together in either London or New York and chat all things books, in person!
“I’ve been absolutely loving this memoir, Eva and Eve, by Julie Metz. I’ve read a lot about the Holocaust and WWII, but this portrait into life in Vienna and the vibrant community there, with a modern-day element of a mother-to-teen-daughter component, made this so relevant, timely and relatable. I felt like my own family had experienced this. Plus Julie’s writing is stunning. So literary and evocative. I’ve been reading it slowly, savoring each word.”
