The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen
There have been many *many* highlights that I’ve experienced since starting @thebibliofilles with Chaya a few months ago. Friday, though, was a pretty momentous day because I received a proof copy of the new book from an author who wrote one of my absolute favourites of all time — The Corrections. Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen is out in October but it got me all giddy, thinking about that ol’ fave of mine, which I read on many a tube journey from my home in Norf London to my office in Hammersmith and back again. I was so hooked on this that there were multiple occasions where I missed my stop on the way home. It still has pride of place on my bookshelf and it’s one of those books that I get a little bit weird about in that I need to know where it is at all times. If you ask to borrow it, I’m telling you now, straight up, the answer is likely going to be a resounding NO. Definitely buy your own though — it’s bloody brilliant.

Humungous thanks to @mattclacher and the wonderful team @4thestatebooks for sending Crossroads to us. You made my weekend.
p.s. pretty sure I slipped a disc taking this shot. Now that’s commitment, friends!
